A COMMUNITY COLLEGE CAN COLLECT PROPERTY TAXES IN 8 DIFFERENT AND SEPARATE CATEGORIES!

 
8 Types of Taxes!!!!  Did you know Community Colleges in Idaho can charge property tax owners for 8 categories of new taxes?  The most common one is Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and a Liability Insurance tax.  All 3 current colleges in Idaho charge their property tax owners a tax for these two categories.  But there are 5 other potential ones, like grounds and gyms, which is charged by at least one in Idaho.   (See Idaho code 33-2107A and 2110A(3) ).
 
There are several taxes that have state impossed limits, and some that are not limited!  See the Word Document below for a chart of what the taxes are, and what they could cost you!

See page 8 under "Community College" for the taxing limits, or lack thereof, on all the types of taxes a Community College can tax you. Remember, the first year budget is set by appointed, not elected, officials.
